Genesis Yorkshire Terriers

As "Genesis" is the begining, so is the name I have chosen for our Yorkies. - " a Beginning to something Great!~"

I started my search for "Quality show dogs" and found not everyone is honest.

I found some I had bought should not be shown nor bred like it was promised.

Many heartaches and alot of money and advise later,

led me to make the hard decision and place those that were not the quality I had dreamed of nor wanted to reproduce and started over.

I vowed then to not let my heart make all the decisions and trust more in God and prayer as this was something I was serious about.

It was a long search to find Yorkshire Terriers that were not only pleasing to my eyes, but healthy and sound.

I located a breeder, Glenda Beavers and loved her dogs.

She gave me a chance for "Genesis Yorkies" to start over.

Breeding and raising Yorkies is a Large commitment and a serious job. You don't get paid back and you are lucky to just break even if you ever do.

It is still alot of heartache.. especially when a puppy leaves, still alot of money..but worth every penny, and still alot of advise.. as anyone can learn daily.

And most of all.. Still alot of trust in God and prayer.

But for me it is worth that next show puppy and the next owner of a great pet.

The Glory of winning in the showring goes back to my Lord and Saviour,Jesus Christ. As the name Genesis shows plus looking at the dogs I have named have something with meaning-all related to scripture or Christian music.

Winning in the showring is great, but it is just something fun I do with my dogs and it keeps my view for the "ultimate" Yorkie in check with how the judges choose. - No one wins everytime, but that keeps me going for more.

To me, I have something to look forward to each morning when I wake, a Beautiful Yorkie.

Not only do I smile when I look at them, it is the theraputic value they have been to my family and my self that keeps my heart beating for them. It also keeps me striving to improve the next generation.

It makes me want to share that with future owners of Yorkies as well.

I am State Licensed and Inspected by the Georgia Dept. of Ag.

My kennel is not the ordinary kennel as the word "kennel" is usually thought of.

The kennel runs have tile floors, cleaned several times a day, soothing music played at all times, lighted, nightlights, and comfy beds and still updating and changing. I want them to still have a "home feel" and be happy, as these kids are my "children".

When puppies arrive, they are all born and raised in our home. As they grow, they are well socialized and started on many "house" manners.

They are started on shots, worming, vet checked, microchipped, and papertraining. Most are totally papertrained before they leave my home.

I do ship our puppies occassionally to their homes.

I prefer to meet the new owners first and unless it is through a reputable referral.

I strive to keep my Yorkies in great health and shape.

I keep them on regular vet checks, shots, worming, etc.

For excerise and socialization they run in the house, train on lead and off with not only myself, but with family and friends as well daily.

I feel is better for the Yorkies to adjust to someone else other than me to work with them and have them more "adjusted".

Yorkies as any other dog can pick just one person and although I love that, I still want mine to not have the seperation anxiety many can have.

They go with me very often to grooming salons, outdoor events, etc. to get out and adjust to the big world out there.

Taking Yorkies out for a trip can take alot longer than just go and come home as many stop and ask to pet and see the dogs. I love how just one simple trip can actually turn into a training class for my dogs. :)

Genesis Yorkies has come a long way with some great dogs!
